Food and Braces
During the time you wear braces it is advised to avoid:
-- Hard foods such as rusk, nuts, raw carrots, etc.
-- Food that sticks to the teeth, eg chewing gum, candy, jellies, etc.
Generally, you should eat cautiously, avoiding biting with your front teeth. It is better to cut the food in small pieces and chew with your back teeth. This avoids damage to the orthodontic mechanisms, which may prolong the time of treatment.
